Across the U.S., landfill space is rapidly filling up. That’s especially true in densely populated northeastern cities like Boston, New York and Philadelphia. In those areas, where space is at a premium, landfills are largely limited to taking in municipal waste. Construction and demolition (C&D) debris typically has to be hauled, often 500 miles or more, for disposal. Our proximity to major interstate highways and our deepwater marine terminal capabilities make us readily accessible to anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard. We can accept your debris by truck or barge.

Since hauling C&D materials hundreds of miles is an expensive proposition, the concept of large-scale recycling has become more than just a rallying cry for environmentalists. We are the premier facility on the east coast that handles the recycling of construction demolition debris in our state-of-the-art C&D recycling facility located in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Waterway Recycling, LLC opened in 2004 and has processed hundreds of thousands of tons of C&D debris for recovery, reuse and recycling. In fact, in 2007 the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality certified our recycling rate at over 90%. Our high recovery rates, efficient operations and the development of end use markets for recycled materials allows us to offer very competitive material acceptance rates as compared to landfill disposal charges.

We proudly join the U. S. Green Building Council in supporting the LEED initiative through our participation in recycling C&D for LEED contractors and projects. Our Virginia DEQ certified recycling rates make LEED credits easily attainable for your next project.

Our facility has over 700,000 tons of annual throughput capacity. We are currently negotiating and accepting new contracts for additional debris volumes. If your company could benefit from competitive disposal and recycling options for job specific contracts or long term disposal agreements, please contact us.
